Cleaning, cleansing or liver detox is according to practitioners extremely beneficial for your health and longevity. To detox or cleanse your liver it means to get rid of waste and toxins stored in your body.

There are different kinds of detox programs available: herbal, electromagnetic treatments, master cleanse, contrast shower, oil pulling, chelation therapy, coffee enema, Waismann method.

Harmful toxins are waste from food, environment, and body’s own waste, accumulated over a longer period of time causing illness, tiredness, and diseases. Onions are amazing foods when it comes to cleaning the liver and skin. They are rich in sulphur. Sulphur stimulates the mucus lining of the stomach and digestive organs, which increases the flow of digestive juices creating a greater absorption of nutrients.

As far as herbs, dandelion and milk thistle are excellent choice when it comes to liver cleanse or strengthening the liver. While dandelion helps you get rid of accumulated waste from your gallbladder and kidneys milk thistle is good for strengthening the liver. Also the following herbs and roots are among the most prominent ones:

  • Licorice root
  • Agrimony
  • Wild yam root
  • Capers contain considerable amounts of the antioxidant bioflavinoid, rutin and they are said to have an anti-rheumatic effect and they can improve liver function.
